Olivia Doray took her first steps into the world of music at the Maîtrise of the Opéra National de Lyon under the directorship of Claire Gibault: on stage, she was one of the Three Boys in… Une Petite Flûte Enchantée (A Magic Flute for the Young People) at the Opéra Comique, the Sandman in Hänsel and Gretel in the Amphitheatre of the Opéra Bastille and at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, la Ninfa in l’Orfeo by Monteverdi on the stage of the Opéra National de Lyon.

In 2004, she was awarded a gold medal with distinction with the unanimous agreement of the judges at the Conservatoire National of Lyon as well as graduating with a degree (BA) in Musicology. She is also a graduate of the Royal College of Music of London (PGdip) and was a resident artist at CNIPAL for the 2006-2008 seasons.

Olivia Doray won First prize at the European Operatic Forum in Arles chaired by Gabriel Bacquier, the Prix Jeune Espoir Opéra at the Béziers Competition, and Second prize at the Moirans Competiton chaired by Mady Mesplé.

She has trained in master classes with Gerald Finley, Ann Murray, Yvonne Minton, Mady Mesplé, Tom Krause, David Syrus, and Louis Langrée.

During previous seasons, she performed the lead role in Cendrillon (Pauline Viardot) at the Amphitheatre of the Opera National de Lyon (2004), Musetta in La Bohème (Puccini) for the British Youth Opera, London on tour in Italy and France (2006).

She was heard as Anna in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Otto Nicolai) at the Marseille Opera and at the Avignon Opera in a CNIPAL production conducted by Dominique Trottein.

On the Marseille Opera stage, she was once again Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly (Puccini) directed by Numa Sadoul and conducted by Patrick Davin.

She then starred in the role of Karolka in Jenufa (Janacek) at the Toulon Opera, conducted by Friedrich Pleyer, and participated in La Belle Hélène (Offenbach) at the Avignon Opera in the role of Parthoenis.

At the Opéra Comique, she sang the part of Hélène in Une Education Manquée (Chabrier) in a production by Jérôme Deschamps, which was broadcasted on France Musique in December 2007.

Equally in demand for recitals, she participated at the Massenet Festival in Saint-Etienne, gave a recital of “Romances” at the Opéra Comique and sang a program exclusively dedicated to French music at the MIDEM Classical and Jazz 2008 in Cannes. On this occasion, Frédéric Lodéon invited her for his Carrefour de l’Odéon program on France Inter Radio Channel.

During summer 2008, she went on tour with the Toulon Opera Orchestra through the Var region.

She is named Soprano of the Year by the Adami Academy for 2008 and, as winner of this Academy, participated in August 2008 in a concert performance of at the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades: a CD recording of this concert will soon be issued…

She then sings a concert with Michel Plasson as well as recitals with the Adami laureates, Haydn's Die Schöpfung (Gabriel/Eve) in April 2009 conducted by Philippe Bender, a concert with the Orchestra of Toulon Opera in June 2009, Laks's L’Hirondelle Inattendue (Colombe) with the Orchestra of Marseille Opera at Festival Musiques Interdites with Marie Laforêt.
 
Among Olivia's engagements for 2009: Mozart from Reynaldo Hahn (Louise) at Spoleto Festival staged by Pier Luigi Pizzi in July 2009, Franz Lehar's Friederike (Klärchen) at Festival de Radio France in Montpellier under the baton of Lawrence Foster, Les Troqueurs de Dauvergne (Margot) conducted by Jérôme Corréas at the Amphithéâtre of Opéra Bastille - Paris in November 2009, La Chanson de Fortunio (Landry) at Opéra Comique in December 2009…

In 2010, Olivia appears twice on the stage of the Opéra National de Paris in Massenet's Werther (Kätchen) and in Don Carlos (A voice from Heaven). She then sings Mozart's Requiem at the Opéra de Saint-Etienne in April and then appears in Scotto's Un de la Canebière (Francine) at the Opéra d'Avignon in May, in Martinu's Mirandolina (title-role) in June in a production of the Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra National de Paris…

Among her future projects for 2011, Olivia will take the role of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Opéra de Rouen in February and Der Schauspieldirektor (Mademoiselle Silberklang) and Bastien und Bastienne (Bastienne) at the Opéra de Toulon in November…
